Coach Rick Neuheisel, along with 6 fellow college football coaches, returns to the United States today after traveling in the Middle East to meet with U.S. troops and their families for Coaches Tour 2009.
While staying in Iraq, coaches Rick Neuheisel (UCLA), Jim Tressel (Ohio State), Mack Brown (Texas), Jim Grobe (Wake Forest), Troy Calhoun (Air Force), Houston Nutt (Ole Miss) and Tommy Tuberville (previously with Auburn) departed their airplane in full Kevlar body armor and spent their nights in a palace formerly belonging to Saddam Saddam Hussein... in the same room... in bunk beds. Nice.
UCLA football office intern David Raih is also on tour with the coaches and wrote about getting ready for the trip and provided a mid-trip update.
This is something we will definitely have to ask Coach about when he is in town for Campus Connection on June 20.

Fox Sports Net (FSN) and ESPN have picked up three of the Bruins football games for TV.
FSN will broadcast the home game against Kansas State on Sept. 19 which has a 7:15 PM kick-off. They will also televise the UCLA/U$C game on November 28. The game this year is at the Coliseum with a 7 PM kick-off time. By the way, the UCLA/U$C series has only been played at night five times and never in the past 32 years.
ESPN has picked up the Tennessee game in Knoxville on Sept. 12. Kick-off for that game is still TBD.
Locally, the home opener on Sept. 5 against San Diego State University will be shown on either Prime Ticket or Fox Sports West.
It is still early and more announcements are to come, usually about two weeks prior to game day.

- New Team Store for UCLA merchandise sales
- New seating bowl with new aisles and steps with safety handrails; new seats and new seating sections with new entry points
