For over 70 years, Alumni Scholarships have provided bright and deserving students with the financial assistance and incentives to attend UCLA.
Committees, near you, are looking for new volunteers for the Freshman and Ralph J. Bunche Scholarship Programs! Alumni volunteers are integral to the selection. As a volunteer, you would help directly determine which outstanding, local high school seniors will win between $4,000 - $17,500 in merit based scholarships.
Volunteers options/opportunities include:
- Day #1: Paper Screening - Committees will convene to read and score applications. Based on the average scores, your team will decide who to interview.
- Day #2: Interview Day - Your team will interview each eligible candidate. Interview scores will be combined with the paper screening scores. You and your committee will determine who wins $4,000, and also who advances to the next (Area) level.
Most committees are paper screening and interviewing on the last two weekends in March. Any volunteers who wish to interview, must also paper screen the applications. Interviews are really fun because these students are so amazing! However, if you can only volunteer for one day, the District Chair in your area can find the right position for you.
Please contact Stephanie Brown at (408)730-1649 or StephanieBrown@UCLAlumni.net immediately and let her know where you reside so she can get you in touch with the appropriate District Chair.
We look forward to including you in the Alumni Association's #1-Rated Volunteer Experience!
